How we prepare our guides
Guides are published by TrailsPals. We distinguish explanations of our app from source-based outdoor guidance, and link to the references used. Publication and update dates appear on articles. We do not claim a guide was field-tested or professionally reviewed unless a named test or review is described on the page.
Our app screenshots are identified by release version and may show example trips. They are product illustrations, not evidence of current trail conditions.
Where route information comes from
Community map data comes from OpenStreetMap contributors under the ODbL. City pages identify the data snapshot and limitations. A mapped route is not proof of public access, a complete itinerary, a difficulty rating or an open trail. Official land-manager information takes precedence for restrictions and conditions.
Corrections and product questions
Contact the TrailsPals team or email support@trailspals.com with the page URL and the correction or source. We review submitted corrections before changing published guidance.
Your location and safety
Choose your journey privacy and recipients deliberately. Anyone with a forwarded watch link may be able to open it. Ending a recording stops new tracking; it does not necessarily revoke a saved link. Check sharing controls in the app. Connectivity and device state affect updates, and the app does not dispatch emergency services.
